The Rajasthan police have successfully apprehended a wanted criminal involved in a drug trafficking network operating within the state. This information was disclosed by a senior official on Sunday.
According to the officer, the arrest took place during a coordinated operation conducted by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) on Sunday morning.
Vikas Kumar, the Inspector General of ATS, revealed that the suspect, Kamlesh, a resident of Dhori Manna in Barmer, was wanted in multiple criminal cases across several states. His involvement in drug smuggling had placed him on the ATS's radar.
The joint team had been monitoring Kamlesh for the past three days in the Barmer and Jaisalmer districts. Ultimately, he was captured near the Sankad police station area in Jaisalmer, close to the Pakistan border. Kumar noted that a reward of ₹25,000 had been announced for information leading to Kamlesh's arrest. During the operation, the team seized over ₹100,000 from him.
